Senior Capstone Presentation!

My capstone presentation went really smoothly. The interviewee was very thorough and direct. He made it less awkward and I really appreciated that.

Presentation

Things that'll be in my presentation other than my website and PSA will include a well practiced smile, visual aids and a thought through oral speech. I will also have something to draw in the crowd..maybe a pretty girl or something..not really.

I plan to have a pretty basic presentation with a poster board and statistics. Pretty basic, yeah.

I plan to keep a optimistic tone and keep the audience entertained.
That is all.

Dr. Mane's Speech

From the applause Dr. Mane's received as he was exiting the room, one could say that his speech relating to our Capstone was successful. Dr. Mane's asked the classroom about any issues they had and by the amount of hands raised, it was apparent that there were quite a few.

I asked Dr. Mane's about the tutoring that is available for capstone. He replied with "Yes, *insert what he said about the grants paying the tutors here* so make sure you E-mail me that you are to come and I'll make sure to get a tutor."

So, lo and behold, my question was answered. I am now able to go and get my proposal finalized.

Good stuff, I hope you're happy with this post Mrs. Cunningham.

Different pages of my Website

CAPSTONE WEBSITE

Home Page - What a capstone project is and why I'm doing it

Bio - About me and why I chose to take on this problem.

Product and Problem - A page dedicated to my product and problem.

Sources - Plagiarizing isn't something I intend on doing, so full credit will be given in a separate page.

Contact information - Like any other professional. I'd need a page where my credentials are to be found so I could get contacted. This will include my E-mail, Phone number and Fax number.

Thoughts about Capstone

I plan to approach this issue with the utmost respect, therefore, I am extremely serious about this situation. Amputees are often deprived of the privilege of working. Their work was a source of income used to support themselves, their families, so and and so forth. Why, when people are willing to work even after this tragedy, are they not allowed to obtain something that will enable them to do so?

Capstone Project

Overview: Seniors in the school Richland Collegiate High school are required to do a Capstone project which incorporates what we want to do in the future. I'm working towards a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering and afterwards, I'll start getting into the Biomedical aspect of Engineering. A little factual information on what Biomedical Engineering is: Biomedical Engineering works with the technology that enables the disabled. For example, we engineer artificial limbs, organs, etc...

As you can see here, this is an artificial limb.

Issue: People who are disabled/amputees often can't afford the price range of these artificial limbs, and in most cases, peoples insurance won't be able to cover it. Because of this, people who are disabled due to a loss of limb often lose their job and aren't able to recover it because of their disability.
Solution: I plan to construct/engineer a limb that is affordable and is Insurance approved. I also plan to raise awareness about these situations.

Poster Research

When it comes down to Movie posters, you will need to be able to sell it. (It being the movie). Often times, posters are what draw viewers in. If your idea is scattered all over the place, then, well... It won't be so pretty.

There's some steps that call for a somewhat perfect movie poster. Since we all know nothing's perfect, these steps should subdue.
In this poster, you notice the title. The picture depicts what the movie is all about, and the actors names are on it along with credits to the producer, etc...

  1. Somewhere in the poster, the director and main actors should be mentioned.
  2. A main picture should be the center piece since that is what most people recognize.
  3. The title should be apparent. Without it the viewers would have trouble figuring out what it is.
  4. Make sure that your information is on point and not overdone.
  5. Lastly, the color shouldn't throw off the viewer.
